Jacquie
has been given a job for crying out loud!
Before Christmas 2006, Wareham Town Council interviewed 5 applicants
for the post of Wareham town crier, and Jacquie Hall was the successful
applicant.
She was appointed to this honorary position on January 1st 2007.
Jacquie can be seen in the centre of town, and at the market on
the Quay, on a Saturday morning.
Jacquie has also accompanied the Wareham Mayor during the Beating
of the Bounds in Poole Harbour, and greeted guests at the Mayor's
Charity Ball. |

Her
duties will include many civic duties during the year, but also
she will enter into Town Crier competitions around the South,
promoting Wareham and the surrounding area.
There have been town crier competitions in Blandford, where Jacquie
was a 'guest' crier', and in Yeovil, where with her husband Chris
as escort, she came 14th out of 27.
In July Jacquie will represent wareham at Frome at their first
ever held competition.
Jacquie is married to Chris, with two daughters, and has a lovely
9 month old grand daughter.

She has worked at Purbeck District Council since 1987.
Also she has been a Dorset Button for the same amount of time.
This is a North West clog team consisting of 30 ladies regularly
seen dancing throughout Dorset during the summer. Part of the
team also consists of a band of men who perform a Rapper dance
with two-handled swords. It is a great help to town crying,
as she is used to wearing unusual kit in public, and shouting
at the dancers.
